Data Center - IT Infrastructure Technical Project Manager
The role
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to own IT infrastructure in Nebius data centers from the moment it is accepted into operations: acceptance of new sites and GPU clusters from the Project team, and delivery of projects and changes in live production environments. You will work with modern GPU clusters — GPU servers, high-speed networking, compute and storage — acting as the link between the Project team, DC engineers, vendors and IT Operations.
This role represents IT Operations in those projects, sets the acceptance bar and owns the transition into steady-state operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acceptance & operational readiness of new sites and clusters
Represent IT Operations in new site and cluster projects from the planning stage: define acceptance criteria and operational readiness requirements upfront, before build starts.
Own the acceptance process: readiness assessments, acceptance testing against agreed criteria, punch lists, operational sign-off. Acceptance is mandatory — no site or cluster moves into operations without it.
Prepare operations for takeover: operational procedures, tooling, documentation, on-site processes, spares and vendor support in place before sign-off.
Manage the transition period from Project team to IT Operations, including defect follow-up and closure of open items after handover.
Operations projects & change management in live DCs
Manage and deliver IT infrastructure projects and change requests in production data centers: hardware deployments and replacements, capacity changes in accepted clusters, network and cabling changes, decommissioning.
Own the change lifecycle for DC IT infrastructure: change requests, risk and impact assessment, MOPs, maintenance windows, rollback plans, post-implementation review.
Manage risks and dependencies in live environments; proactively identify technical, operational and process issues and drive them to resolution.
Stakeholders, communication & documentation
Lead communication with all stakeholders: transparent progress reporting, expectation management, escalation of critical blockers, timely decision-making.
Lead project meetings, technical reviews and operational readiness discussions with a focus on clear ownership, actionable outcomes and execution.
Maintain project and operational documentation: acceptance criteria and reports, risk registers, issue logs, operational procedures, handover documentation, deployment reports.
Cross-functional coordination & operational excellence
Coordinate engineering, infrastructure, network, security, procurement, hardware lifecycle and operations teams across acceptance and operational phases.
Work directly with data center engineers, vendors, contractors and operations teams.
Lead operational reviews and planning with internal teams; improve reliability, response times and workflows.
Contribute to automation, process improvements and design support as needed.
We expect you to have:
Proven experience in data center IT infrastructure operations, preferably in high-performance or AI-oriented environments.
Experience accepting IT infrastructure into operations: defining acceptance criteria, running readiness assessments, taking handover from project teams.
Experience running changes in live production environments: change requests, MOPs, maintenance windows, rollback planning.
Solid understanding of data center design and operations: racking, cabling, power planning, cooling considerations.
Hands-on experience with IT hardware in data centers; comfortable on site during live operations.
Experience in project delivery, team coordination and cross-team collaboration.
Strong problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot technical and workflow issues across the IT stack.
Ability to document processes, maintain tracking systems and produce clear acceptance, deployment and handover reports.
Strong stakeholder management; clear communication between technical and business teams.
Ownership, drive and follow-through — including the ability to refuse sign-off when criteria are not met.
Ready for regular business trips, including on-site presence during acceptance of new sites and clusters.
It will be an added bonus if you have:
Structured project management or delivery frameworks (PRINCE2, PMI, Agile).
ITIL / formal change management experience.
Relevant technical certifications.
Familiarity with GPU clusters / AI workloads.
